World Famous

World Famous has been feeding Pacific Beach since 1970, and it earns the name honestly, right on the boardwalk with a patio that puts you a few dozen feet from the sand. It’s a proper sit-down seafood spot rather than a taco stand, think fish tacos, crab cake benedicts, and a raw bar, but the vibe stays relaxed enough for sandy feet and a stroller parked by the table. We send families here for breakfast before a beach day or dinner after one, since it runs 8am to 9:30pm daily and doesn’t require reservations for smaller groups. Ask for outdoor seating if the weather’s good, the ocean view is the whole point. It gets busy on weekend mornings, so if you’ve got early risers, go before 9am and you’ll walk straight in. High chairs are on hand and the menu has enough plain options, kids’ fish and chips, simple pasta, that picky eaters won’t stage a protest. It’s a five minute walk from most of our homes, easy enough to do without loading the car.
